MarbleEyes 2010

The 2010 Espanola Game and Fish Marble Eyes Walleye Classic has been cancelled this year.  The Marble Eyes Committee apologies to all sponsors and tournament participants for any inconvenience this may have caused and is looking forward to next year’s event.   This was not an easy decision but when all the factors were considered, it was the right decision.

The response from the tournament participants and sponsors being notified although disappointed has been extremely encouraging and positive.  With a maximum number of 80 teams registered for 2010, 91% of this year’s teams have already prepaid  for the 2011 event, which clearly demonstrates the over whelming support of the Marble Eyes as being one of the premier fishing events in Ontario.  We thank you for your continued support.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors and volunteers in Espanola, Massey, Sable Spanish, Elliot Lake and the City of Greater Sudbury for their continued support for this event.

I would like to personally thank all the members of the Marble Eyes Committee for all their hard work and dedication which would have been another great event, especially Len Houle, Lee Morley and Bernadette Houle for the countless number of hours in meetings and all the planning and hard work that was involved for this event, THANK YOU!

I would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer.

Best Regards

  • Angler of the Year standings

  • A fun way to finish
What do you think about Russ Lane's rise to the top? He's only five points behind Skeet Reese going into the final postseason event this week. It looks to me like it's going to be a great finish.
  • Good times in Alabama
Yesterday was a wonderful day for me and the rest of the anglers fishing the postseason. Each of us took a wounded veteran out on Lake Cameron for a fun-filled, bragging rights tournament called the Hope for the Warriors Tournament.
